ASL JunSur means the "way of the original warrior."It is established as a new and improved mix of martial arts, taking the best suitable techniques from all styles related to TKD, Karate, Hapkido, Jujutsu, Kendo & Iaido, to create an all-in-one martial arts and fitness. Each of these styles has it's benefits and weakness, but uniting the methods together you create the ultimate Martial arts style. ASL JunSur is for the modern day generation of martial arts whom are looking to expand their knowledge.
Master Asl's philosophy is not to fight with your hands when you can fight with your mind. If you must fight, use your mind instead of your temper. Great fighters from ancient times inspired the original warrior. They weren't great warriors for being courageous, but because they fought wisely. It does not matter how strong or big you are, but how well you adapt to execute the techniques with your surroundings. Thinking before you act will help you become a better martial artist as well as a better person.
Here at the World ASL JunSur Federation we teach many different styles to establish as a new and improved mix of martial arts, taking the best suitable techniques from all styles related to Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Jujtsu, Karate, Kendo & Iaido to creat an all-in-one Martial Arts & fitness.
-
Tae Kwon Do - The meaning of Tae Kwon Do is "the way of the foot and hand". It originated in Korea and has become an Olympic Sport. TKD focuses mainly on striking through kicks and punches.
-
Karate - Origination from Japan, Karate means "the way of the empty hand". Like TKD, karate is mostly powerful strikes. The difference is that Karate use elbow and knee strikes along with kicks and punches.
-
Hapkido - Also, a Korean martial art style, Hapkido designed for self-defense. This style uses joint locks, pressure points, throws and weapons along with kicks and punches.
-
Jujutsu - Can be translated to the "Soft way". This Japanese style is made up of throws, joint locks, and chokes. The goal is to throw down an opponent by using their strength against them.
-
Kendo/Gumdo & Iaido - Kendo is Japanese for the way of the sword. Gumdo is a Korean version. The two styles developed through traditional swordsmanship to a martial art with sport - like elements. Iaido is Japanese word drawing. The idea of Iaido is one draw one kill, which requires high level of concentrations.

Master Asl
Master Abbas Mortezaie-Asl has over 25 years experience in martial arts. He has studied over five different styles of martial arts and has received a black belt in every style and went on to receive higher ranks in some. His eldest brother, also a master, enrolled Master Asl and his sister into Tae Kwon Do at the early age of two in California. For five consecutive years, they breathed, practiced and learned about the techniques in Tae Kwon Do as a family. His brother made sure Master Asl practiced his martial arts on a daily basis, while continuing to teach him different martial arts styles at home. When Master Asl moved from California to Texas enrolled in a school of karate and kickboxing. At the age of thirteen, he had learned all he could from the school and began competing. After becoming a national champion, Master Asl began studying Hapkido and Kung Fu. Simultaneously, he trained at a different school for Judo and Grappling. By the age of 15, his Grand Master introduced Gum Do into his daily practice. At 18 years old, he already held a variety of black belts in Kung Fu, Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Karate. However, his thirst for more still felt unfulfilled until he started competing again at the early age of 13; at which, he as already a national champion. Now at an older age, it was time for the next level. At first, Master Asl only competed at the national and regional levels, but soon after he began competing internationally and winning in almost every competition. Due to injuries, Master Asl could no longer compete. He started ASL JunSur to replace his competition days.
